the victory at Kahlenberg

The battle fought on 12 September, 1683 between chief commander Mustapha Kara, Prince Charles of Lotharingia and Polish king, János Sobieski near mount Kahlenberg ended with the victory of the united imperial-Polish troops. This Christian success put an end to the second siege of Vienna by the Turks, and opened the war to liberate Hungary (1683-1699).
