He was born in 1415, the first son of Ernő Ironstrong and the Mazovian princess Cimburga. After his father's death, Frederick IV became his guardian, but in 1435 he was declared to be an adult and became the head of Styria, Carinthia and Krajna, and in 1439, at the age of 24, he became the head of the Habsburg dynasty. On 2 February, 1440 he was selected German king, and on 17 June, 1442 he was crowned in Aachen. He was also crowned emperor in Rome on 19 March, 1452, and was the last emperor in the history of the Holy Roman empire. On 17 February, 1459 he was crowned Hungarian king at Németújvár, and he used this title until his death. He married Eleonor of Portugal and they had five children, including Maximilian, who later became emperor. He died on 19 August, 1493 in Linz.

Maximilian (Miksa)

He was born on 22 March, 1459 as Holy Roman Emperor, son of Frederick III and Eleonor of Portugal. In 1477 he married Maria, the heir to the throne of Burgundy. In his father's lifetime, on 16 February, 1486 he was elected German king and crowned on 9 April. In 1490 he took Tirol from his brother, and in the same year he declared his claim to the Hungarian throne. On 7 November, 1491 the peace of Pozsony guaranteed the use of the title Hungarian king for him. After his father's death, in 1493 he started his great reforms in the empire. As his efforts to be crowned emperor were unsuccessful, he was the first to use the title "selected Roman king". His second wife was Bianca Maria, the daughter of the Prince of Milan. He died on 12 January, 1519.
