Gregory Bicskei
The Archbishop of Esztergom between 1298 and 1303, earlier the guard canon of Fehérvár, then prepost and vice chancellor of Fehérvár. He was the one who crowned Charles I first. To settle his appointment as Archbishop he travelled to the Papal court. He was killed by the French king, Philip IV's men in Anagni on 7 September 1303, when they arrested Pope Bonifac VIII.

Basarab
Chief prince of Wallachia between around 1319-1352, who was of Cuman or Tartar origin. He was the founder of the independent Wallachian region, the eponym of Bessarabia. Originally a Hungarian feudal tenant, later he gave up his loyalty to Charles I, whose army he destroyed in 1330. His descendants were the voivodes of Wallachia till the 16th century.
