C. DAICOVICIU, ed., Istoria Romîniei I (Comuna primitivă) (Bucharest, 1960) may be considered outdated, but its broader conclusions were adopted in subsequent surveys. D. BERCIU, Zorile istoriei în Carpaţi şi la Dunăre (Bucharest, 1966), reedited as Romania before Burebista (London, 1967). The summary by G.B. FEDOROV and L.L. POLEVOJ of Romanian research up to 1970 is in many respects more useful than the illustrated book by E. CONDURACHI and C. DAICOVICIU, Rumänien: Archaelogia Mundi (Geneva, 1972).
