VIRTUAL CATALOGUE
The virtual catalogue of the European Book History Collection is part of the National Széchényi Library's OPAC (nektar.oszk.hu).
This catalogue is a special subfile of the national library's OPAC: a kind of shared catalogue which includes the materials related to the history of the book and libraries whether held in the main collection and special collections, or in the Library of Book History, Library and Information Science. The catalogue is not yet complete, new records are being continuously added in the course of retrospective conversion.
The catalogue is accessible as follows:

Entry into the catalogue is possible choosing the gateway (icon) leading to either the National Széchényi Library or to the Library of Book History, Library and Information Science
- Database selection: Európai Könyvtörténeti Gyűjtemény
- Search (Keresés) or Browse (Böngészés) using search terms.
Search options:

Keyword search (Kulcsszavas keresés) - by title keyword, name keyword, publisher name keyword, note keyword, UDC notation keyword, subject keyword, ISBN, ISSN, or any other keyword.

Advanced search (Összetett keresés) - in addition to keywords by names (persons, corporate names, names of events), titles, subject words, identifiers, call numbers.
Special features of searching by subject:
Subject retrieval is possible in two ways:

in case of materials held in the National Széchényi Library: by UDC notations, and - since 2004 - by the descriptors of the national library's thesaurus

in case of materials held in the Library of Book History, Library and Information Science the Library and information thesaurus (Könyvtári és tájékoztatási tézaurusz) must be relied on
